Terms of Service
Last updated: 4 November 2026
1. Who we are
MSD is provided at mastermindsecuritydesign.com and is operated by Mastermind Security Solutions Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 13344765, whose registered office is at 10 Indus Road, Shaftesbury, SP7 8FU, United Kingdom (“we”, “us”, “our”). Contact: support@mastermindsecuritydesign.com (support and privacy), billing@mastermindsecuritydesign.com (billing).
2. These terms
These terms apply when you or the organisation you represent (“you”) create an account or use Mastermind Security Design (“MSD”, “the Service”). If you accept them for an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to do so. MSD is provided for business and professional use; it is not offered to consumers.
3. Accounts
- You must give accurate details, keep your sign-in details confidential and tell us promptly about any unauthorised use.
- Each person needs their own account. Seats may not be shared.
- Workspace owners and admins control who has access to their workspace and are responsible for their members’ use of it.
4. Plans, trials and payment
- Plans, prices and limits are shown on the pricing page. Prices are in pounds sterling. No VAT is charged — Mastermind Security Solutions Ltd is not VAT registered.
- A trial lasts 14 days, needs no card and is available once per account. At the end of a trial the workspace moves to the Free plan unless you choose a paid plan.
- Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each monthly or annual period until cancelled. Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe.
- Upgrades take effect immediately and are charged pro rata. Downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the current period. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are not refundable for partial periods.
- If a payment fails we will tell you and retry. The workspace keeps full access for 14 days, then becomes read-only (you can still open and export your projects) until payment is made. If payment is not made within 44 days the subscription ends and the workspace moves to the Free plan. Your projects are not deleted because of a failed payment.
- We may change prices on at least 30 days’ notice; changes apply from your next renewal.
5. Your content
You keep all rights in the projects, drawings, files and other material you put into MSD (“Your Content”). You give us a limited licence to host, copy, process and display Your Content only as needed to provide the Service to you. We do not open Your Content except when you grant support access, when the law requires it, or to investigate a serious security or abuse concern.
6. Acceptable use
You must follow the Acceptable Use Policy.
7. Professional responsibility
MSD is a design aid. Its calculations, standards references and outputs depend on the information you enter and on assumptions stated in the outputs. You are responsible for checking that a design is suitable for its site, complies with the law and the standards that apply, and is reviewed by a suitably competent person before it is relied on. References to standards are for guidance only and do not mean that a design, product or installation is certified or compliant.
8. Availability and changes
We aim to keep MSD available and secure but do not promise uninterrupted service. We may change or improve features; if we remove a significant paid feature you rely on, we will give reasonable notice and you may cancel. Local-file mode lets you keep working with project files on your own computer.
9. Intellectual property
We and our licensors own the Service, the software and the MSD brand. Open-source components are used under their own licences, listed in the tool under About.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in that period. [Liability cap and exclusions to be confirmed in legal review.]
11. Suspension and ending
You may close your account at any time from Account settings. We may suspend or end access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms, fail to pay, or if we must do so by law, and will give notice where reasonable. After an account is closed, you can no longer access its data; please export anything you need first.
12. Data protection
Our Privacy Notice explains how we use personal data about you. Where we process personal data in Your Content on your behalf, we do so as your processor under our Data Processing Agreement (UK GDPR Article 28). The Data Processing Agreement forms part of these terms and applies on every plan, including Free. By accepting these terms you also accept it, and we record the versions you accepted. Enterprise customers may instead sign a custom data processing agreement.
13. General
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. We may update these terms; we will give at least 30 days’ notice of material changes.
